Agnes the Fun Girl

Wow!

Our Agnes has made herself at home. You can sure tell see has spent most of her life outside. She loves to sit in the shade outside all day long if we let her.

Her and Sundance are a great pair, they will play with each other all day long as well. Agnes was struggling a little bit with house training (no suprise there!) so we are having her sleep in her kennel at night. Of course since Sundance sleeps in our room, Agnes sleeps in our room too!

The good news for me is that Agnes snores more than I do!! She snores so loud that Lelsey has turned on a fan to create some white noise so she can sleep!

Life is Good with Agnes!

Agnes is making herself at home!

Well, it has been a little over a week that Agnes has been with us. She is the sweetest old gal in the world. You can tell she led a tough life until now.....

Lisa you were right, loud sounds/noises do scare her. Everyday she is more fun (if that is possible!) She loves the walks we take (the kids take her at least twice a day).

She loves to play non stop, fetch, tug of war (with Sundance our other dog, or with Delaney our youngest daughter).

She loves the doggie bed she has in the family room and is getting very comfortable sleeping with one of the kids. She loves to be covered with a blanket.

Agnes is doing pretty good with training on the invisible fence, we will probably gice her a leash free test with it today or tomorrow! We will keep you posted!!!

She is our Gift!

Live the Good Life Agnes!

Dear Agnes,
I have had the pleasure of watching you ,and many members of your previous 'pack' come into this rescue, and be transformed into healthy, happy, confident bird dogs. With this ,my faith in humaity has been restored. I am humbled at their generosity and determination to make all of this come full circle.
Hats off to all of you at Illinois Bird Dog Rescue!
Live the good life sweet Agnes!
I will be handing this blog over to your new family, and we hope to see you soon!
Susan

Welcome Home Agnes!

The day as Arrived, Agnes goes home!

The days on Boat Mountain are a faded memory for Agnes, as she is welcomed into her new family.

When Agnes first came onto Illinois Bird Dog Rescue she was suffereing from "Pyrometra", and was only given a 50/50 chance

You've Come A Long Way baby!

This is Agnes now,.....

This is Anges then,.....

Aiming to Please!

It's amazing how these Boat Mountain dogs are coming around, and adjusting to "civilized living". I have to wonder just how long some of them had lived there?
How were they acquired in the first place?
Had they lived their entire life on this Mountain?

Agnes, ..catchin a little "Squirrel Time"

These darn things are a different color up here!!! Red,.. a squirrel?
Heck down home they are mostly gray,...!

Hobbit's Rule!

Agnes got to go to the East Branch Dog Training Park yesterday afternoon.
After she got out of my yard and let herself back in last week- I knew she would be fine for her first off leash run and hunt! She did an AWESOME job!! Hopefully Mike will have some photos. She stayed with the dogs, hunted independently but better yet she checked in and came when she was called.
I have no doubt she helped keep those dogs alive on Boat Mountain- going on hunting excursions and bringing back food for the hungry dogs.

She has no issues with meeting new people and dogs and she was even giving Mike GOOGLY Hobbit eyes when he went to get her back from some folks she started to stay with. What an amazing little birddog she is!! Her limp is completely gone too. I started her on some Solid Gold MSM 2 weeks ago and whatever sprain she had- has healed. YAY!! HOBBITS RULE!!!

Say a prayer for Agnes she was on the operating table when I was there and her uterus is huge( very infected ) the Doc said that she has a 50/50 chance. As soon as the surgery she will be on IV fluids and made comfy to help her recover.
Lets all pray her body can fight to stay alive. The poor girl I hope we caught her in time.

Prayers for Agnes

For those of you who came out last night and saw how sickly and pathetic, little Agnes was,
- her fever just broke!! I got a second Clavamox into her this am. and she drank a lot of water. She was all sprawled out on the doggie bed under the down comforter a half and hour ago- and was up and about wagging her tail just a few minutes ago!. She still does not have an appetite- but she is drinking water.
She has the most beautiful face!

Poor Agnes will also be losing most of her teeth as the infection in her mouth is so bad. She is adorable just the same
